Our co-founder Christian Jolck is selected as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum
Ten years ago I received a phone call that would change my life. It was from the World Economic Forum to inform me that I had been selected to join the Forum of Young Global Leaders. The YGL voyage throughout the last decade has been transformative for me. Through it I have made friends across the world, created a coalition of aligned investors and inventors seeking to scale impactful technologies and most critically had my eyes opened to the challenges and opportunities in our battle against climate change through the WEF’s education module at Princeton’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, which directly led me down the path to co-found 2150.
Having personally benefited from the YGL program and community, it is therefore a great honour to welcome my Partner and co-founder Christian Jolck to the YGL community as part of the YGL Class of 2024.From the first time we met in the basement of a London co-working space in 2019 and started to plot what would become 2150, I knew that Christian had the potential, ambition and drive to leave a long-lasting mark on the world and his selection into the YGL community simply validates that early impression.
The Class of 2024 is made up of 87 individuals from across the globe, each a change maker across civil society, arts, culture, government and business. From leaders of governments and Fortune 500 companies to recipients of Nobel Prizes and Grammy Award, they join a community of 1,500 members and alumni from 120 nationalities all aligned around the YGL’s mission to “shape a more inclusive and sustainable future.”
Christian’s background in supporting the sustainability initiatives of some of the Nordics leading industrial players, his role in incubating and Chairing SYNERGI, the leading climate advocacy group, his membership in the steering committee of the Venture Capital Alliance, and his day-to-day work in scaling sustainable climate solutions through 2150 prove his longstanding leadership in the climate space and deservedly earn him his invitation to join this year’s YGL class.
Within the 2150 ecosystem, Christian joins other past YGLs including our Advisory Board members Coen van Oostrom (Class of 2007), Lynn Loo (Class of 2012) and myself (Class of 2014). The YGL voyage has been impactful and transformational for all of us and we know it will have the same impact on Christian and provide him, and 2150, with a platform to scale our global impact.
Congratulations “CJ” … and welcome to the YGL family!
